Meet Jacob and Susan Jacob is a university student in his third year. He is looking for a job related to what he is studying but is struggling to find one because he needs to learn how to write a strong resume that will pique the attention of employers. Jacob also needs to improve his interviewing skills. Our Job Readiness program will help young people like you and Jacob to capture your transferrable skills, qualities, strengths and build on them to become successful. In the build section learn about goal setting, perfect your informational skills, and develop soft skills such as time management, presentation, team work, and more. Soft skills help you behave in different situations. During the 9-week program youths like you will discover how to succeed in interviews using the star method. Use the star method when asked about your skills or how you behaved in a difficult situation. Susan is an adult in her 20’s with a disability. She spends her time volunteering in her community but wants to start working so she can gain a new set of skills and experience while making her own income. Many people like Susan who don’t have paid work experience don’t know that its their qualities and interests that are important in getting and keeping a job. The job readiness program captures all your transferrable skills and strengths to build on and be successful. The build section also helps you improve your listening and communication skills. To help Susan and you succeed in finding a job and get the experience and income everyone desires the Job Readiness program is for you. Explore your special job needs to eliminate barriers you may face. Learn how your appearance and attitude affect you even after getting hired. Be confident in any interview with your one-liner statement and role playing practice.
